About the venue
The Metropolitan Opera House, commonly known as “The Met,” was built in the early 1900s. It was majorly renovated and re-opened in 2018 and exists as a premier concert venue hosting a variety of musicians and performers in it’s North Philly location, just south of Temple’s campus.

How can I purchase tickets?
Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office.
The Met Philadelphia box office is located by the corner of Poplar and Carlisle Streets. The box office is open on show days only, two hours before doors. There is an $8 fee per ticket at the box office. MasterCard, Visa, Discover & American Express payment accepted. Cash not accepted.
Will call tickets are available for pickup at the box office located on Poplar Street. Please make sure that you have a photo ID matching the purchaser’s name to pick up tickets.
How can I get to the venue?
By Uber / Lyft / Rideshare / Taxi: Drop off / pick up is located on Broad Street, next to the venue, immediately south of Poplar Street.

How do I enter the venue? What is the process?
The main entrance for most ticket holders is on Poplar St, but the Premium/VIP Ticket entrance is located on Broad Street. All guests using the Premium / VIP entrance must have the appropriate VIP level tickets.
The security queue will start outside, and security will check your IDs and bags before entering the venue.If you have VIP or special event tickets, special entry instructions will be sent via email.
Once you’ve entered past security, you’ll be in the main lobby, where there will be various places to purchase drinks and snacks. The merch tables will also be located here, as well as a coat check.
You will need to check your ticket to determine which entrance to take to get to your seats. Attendants in the lobby can help you locate the appropriate doors.

Is there a bag policy? What can I bring to the venue?
ALL BAGS OVER 12″x12″x6″ ARE PROHIBITED. All bags are subject to search upon entry. Guests have the right to refuse a bag search and the venue has the right to refuse entry. If you have any items that are not allowed into the venue, please return them to your vehicle.
If you are arriving via public transportation and have an oversized item, you can check your item at Coat Check (to the left side of the lobby upon entering).

Is the venue standing only? Are there ADA accommodations?
This is a predominately seated venue. Some shows may have a general admission standing area on the floor, and those sections will be indicated when you purchase tickets.
For ADA seating inquiries, please arrive to the box office as early as possible on your show day for assistance and accommodations.
Accessible Parking is located in Lot A (the closest available parking lot to the venue), first come first served. Let the parking staff know that you need accessible parking and they will direct you to this lot. Fans who require accessible parking may also be dropped off right in front of the venue on Poplar Street. If you do not absolutely need accessible parking, please park in the general lots.
All accessible seating levels have bathrooms, concession stands, and merchandise stands. All levels except for LOGE can be accessed via elevator. If you have loge level seats but cannot use stairs, please visit the box office upon entering for further assistance.

Is there a bag/coat check?
Coat Check to the left side of the lobby upon entering.
Is there an ATM?
There are no ATMs but there are Cash-2-Card kiosk on site. Located adjacent to the merchandise stand.
Is there a bar?
There are multiple bars throughout the lobby and different levels of the venue.
Is there food or a restaurant on premises? If not, where can I eat?
There is a VIP menu available and there are small snacks in the lobby. Otherwise, there are many local restaurants on Broad St to eat at before the show.
Is there a water station/fountain?
Guests are permitted to bring in One (1) factory sealed bottle of water up to 32 fluid oz. in size. This policy is subject to change based on artist requests or safety considerations. EMPTY Refillable plastic water bottles are permitted. Camelbacks are not permitted. Water fountains are located near the stairs in the Lobby and on the Mezzanine level near the elevator.
Where are the bathrooms?
Gendered bathrooms are located on the left and right wall of the lobby, and on other levels.
Where can I buy merch?
Merch tables are set up in the main lobby.
The Met Philadelphia offers a wide range of programming from orchestras to comedians to bands. It’s a great option for those who prefer to see live music from a seated, amphitheater type view.
The Met often offers pre- or post-show gatherings so be sure to refer to the website before you attend your event.
